We regret to advise of news that the Danish insurer Alpha Insurance A/S has been declared bankrupt with effect from 08/05/18

The FSCS has released the following statement:

‘We are aware that Alpha Insurance A/S of Denmark has today been put into bankruptcy.

Policyholders should read the following announcement which provides information on what action they should take.

We are considering the position with the authorities and will provide further updates shortly.’

In the absence of confirmation that Policyholders still have cover, they are advised to contact their insurance broker.

Further update from the FSCS

Default declared of Alpha Insurance A/S of Denmark

11th May 2018

FSCS has now declared the firm in default under the Policyholder Protection Rules.

'We have been speaking with the Danish insurance guarantee fund to understand how its protection applies to UK policyholders. It appears that some policyholders will be protected by FSCS, and we are working with the Danish parties to put in place the appropriate arrangements for claims to be handled. We will provide a further update next week.'
